Mostly good, delivery could be faster

Oh yeah, they definitely do. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are usually their big ones, I got my Pro license for like 50% off last year during that sale. Keep an eye out around those times.

Can confirm, works fine. It's more about making sure your actual email provider (like SendGrid or whatever) is set up right through WP Mail SMTP, rather than WooCommerce itself being a problem.

I think sometimes they have specific renewal promotions, but usually it's full price after the first year. Unless you catch a general sale you can apply.

Yeah, typically the big discounts are for new customers. Your renewal will probably be at the standard rate unless you get lucky with a special offer they send out. Always worth checking your email around renewal time though!

Most of their plans are for multiple sites, especially if you're looking at Pro. I'm on the Business plan and it covers like 25 sites or something. Just gotta make sure you pick the right one for your needs.

Is it really worth getting this over, say, FluentSMTP? Or even just setting up my own SMTP with a free plugin?

FluentSMTP is decent for sure, especially for free. But WP Mail SMTP just feels more polished and I've found their email logging and reporting way better for actually figuring out what went wrong if an email didn't send.

I've used both. For a simple site, the free options or Fluent might be fine. But for anything critical where you absolutely HAVE to know emails are sending (like e-commerce or lead generation), WP Mail SMTP's features, especially the failover and tracking, make it worth it IMO. It's less 'set it and forget it' and more 'set it and verify it' if that makes sense.
